As the Owner/Operator of Skyhawks Peninsula, David is continuing his life-long goal of providing quality youth sports recreation for kids while teaching valuable life lessons.
Growing up in Southern California, David participated on the swim team, little league baseball youth basketball, and high school tennis. While he wasn’t particularly good at any of them (he got two hits in four years of little league baseball!), he learned at an early age the power of sports to make friends, develop good work habits, and the value of teamwork.
As a student at UCLA (B.A. – Political Science ’92), David worked as summer camp counselor for UCLA UniCamp, which provided week-long sleep-away camps for low-income youth in the greater Los Angeles Area. David worked as a summer camp counselor and as the program coordinator for the entire camp.
David went on to obtain his Master’s in Education from UCLA (M.Ed. ’93), and then taught for two years as a teacher in L.A. Public Schools as a 7th grade world history teacher. David still holds his California teaching credentials for K-12 social studies and general education.
After a 20 year detour as an attorney, David recently took an early retirement from the law to return to his first love – teaching and youth recreation!
With three young children, David has been a certified coach and volunteer with AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization), as well as local little league baseball and softball leagues. David also serves as a volunteer Board Member for a local soccer club. Finally, David holds a license as a youth soccer referee with the U.S. Soccer Federation, and can frequently be found on the fields of the Bay Area refereeing soccer games from the 8U level up to high school varsity.
David is also an active marathon runner who has completed 18 marathons . . . slowly.

Skyhawks Peninsula is up and running as our communities slowly return to safe and fun activities for our kids! We are currently running programs and planning Summer camps in San Bruno, Burlingame, San Mateo, Foster City, San Carlos, Redwood City, and Palo Alto
Currently, all registration for Summer camps can only be accessed though the City registration portals, so please check with the City of your choice by locating their recreation guide on the City website. No registration is currently available through our Skyhawks website.
