Requirements
  • Must be between the ages of 14 and 16
  • Must be able to commit to four (4) weeks of program assignments
  • Reliable source of transportation to get to and from programs
  • Prior playing experience in at least one Skyhawks sport offering
  • Pay tuition fee and complete CIT checklist before your first assignment

Position Overview

A Coach-In-Training (CIT) is a high-school student between the ages of 14 and 16 with an athletic background and strong desire to develop leadership qualities and improve coaching skills. The CIT will get hands-on experience with Skyhawks program staff at some of the most recognized sports camps in the country. This is an unpaid position that requires a tuition fee to be paid prior to starting. Among several additional benefits, the CIT will receive a coaching kit, staff uniform, first aid certification and Double-Goal Coach® Certification through the Positive Coaching Alliance. After submitting the form below and an initial phone conversation, the Skyhawks manager will provide the CIT with a sample program outline that they can review with their family prior to committing to the role.


Sample Program Format: Tuition Fee - $400, 4-Week Commitment (9am-12pm, Monday-Friday) *Program cost and length may vary by area


Note – Summer programs may be in different locations every week requiring the CIT to travel varying distances. The majority of summer programs run Monday-Friday either 9:00 am -12:00 pm or 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. At a minimum, CIT staff will have a daily 3-hour assignment and are expected to attend the full duration of each program.
