Description:
Your child will develop event-specific skills in our Track & Field camp. This effective Skyhawks Sports camp is
appropriately competitive for kids ages 6-8. The events of Track & Field are taught through fast-paced drills,
skill-building exercises, event competitions and races. Track & Field programs combine technical development,
fundamental techniques, and fun while introducing young athletes to many Olympic-style events. The exercises and
drills are designed to prepare athletes for a future in cross-country, track and field events, distance running,
while inspiring a lifelong love for being active. The programs will teach fundamentals of body positioning, stride,
proper stretching, and cool-down techniques. Participants will demonstrate their talent at the Skyhawks Sports track meet!
Ability:
At the beginner ability level, kids learn fundamentals and more about sports. Emphasis is placed on understanding
the rules and etiquette of the game through creative and constant participation. Skill development is taught through
an introduction of drills, skill-building exercises, and scrimmages. Limited prior experience is helpful. A desire
to build a sport foundation is a plus.
