Golf can become a lifelong sport when you start with building confidence through training and proper technique. Skyhawks Sports golf camps have adapted the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) technology to its curriculum, which results in a focus on building a foundation of skills while having fun.
Golf can be a very relaxing sport to play. It requires no running, no split-second decisions, and no physical contact. Additionally, golf courses are extremely beautiful, and serene. All of these are reasons golf can be very relaxing, and a great sport to introduce to kids. Even kids in the age group of 4 - 8 years old can get involved in golf.
Golf is a Great Way to Help Kids Grow
Though more relaxing than some other sports, golf still provides the same benefits as many sports. For instance, golf helps kids develop their hand-eye coordination. Golf also helps kids develop their decision making skills. Unlike in other sports when decisions have to be made quickly and under duress, decisions in golf can be thought through fully. Deciding on the proper club and angle of each shot can be deliberated upon fully until the golfer has decided on the best course of action.
In addition to developing hand-eye coordination and decision making, kids develop their self-confidence as they play golf. Having an activity that they develop and persevere through troubles makes kids feel more capable and confident. Plus competition teaches children perseverance and how to deal with adversity.
Youth Golf Camps Help Kids Learn and Have Fun
Skyhawks Sports offers golf programs geared towards kids in a safe and supportive environment. Not only is the Skyhawks Sports staff supportive and great with kids, they also are skilled at the sport they are teaching. Their contagious enthusiasm helps draw in the kids and get them interested in the sport they are learning.
Skyhawks Sports offers a five day a week, three hours a day golf camp for kids interested in learning to play. No prior experience with golf is necessary. The atmosphere at the camp is relaxed and emphasis is placed on having fun while learning golf. Skyhawks Sports uses SNAG (Starting New At Golf) equipment which involves plastic golf clubs with oversized heads, and miniature tennis balls, to help kids develop the skill of hitting the ball. This special equipment helps kids learn the basics of golf, without getting frustrated by it being too difficult.

Description:
One of our most popular programs, Skyhawks Golf focuses on building the
confidence of young athletes through proper technique and refinding the
essential skills of the game. As we know, golf is a challenging and lifelong
sport, so young athletes need proper focus on the fundamentals of form,
swinging, putting, and body positioning. To assist in this training, Skyhawks
has adopted the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) system to its curriculum. Developed
by PGA professionals, SNAG is specifically designed for the entry-level player;
SNAG simplifies instruction so that young players can make an easy & effective
transition onto the golf course. No need to bring yoru own clubs, all equipment
is provided. For safety reasons we utilize special helmets for all campers and
keep the instructor to camper ratio for this program very low, resulting in
limited ability. As a result these programs fill up quickly.
Ability:
The introductory ability level is a great opportunity to set the tone for a lifetime of athletic enjoyment. The
primary focus is to begin to learn the basics by developing skills while continuing to refine their dexterity, balance,
